I am an associate professor at the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication at High Point University. I am also the university’s QEP Director.

I have a BA in media communication from Asbury College, an MA in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Iowa.

I am the husband of a redhead, and the father of two boys.

I have debilitating allergies.

I drink about five cups of coffee a day.

I write about religion and media.

I worked for CNN, and I’ve been a freelance media producer.

I read Ralph Waldo Emerson, the Bible, and The New Yorker.

I can’t get through The Giving Tree without tearing up.
