Third cup

Uncategorized

I’ve had a fun night.

First, KLOVE radio has inspired a new writing project for me.  KLOVE was playing at the hair salon, and the announcers pitched the station’s current campaign: the thirty-day challenge to listen only to Christian music.  It’s an ideal challenge for me because: 1) I’m a Christian, but not the evangelical Christian KLOVE targets; 2) I’m not a middle-aged woman, which is the demographic KLOVE targets; 3) I was the music director for the Christian rock station at my Christian college 15 years ago; 4) I am now a communication professor who studies religion and media, and; 5) Christian music sucks.  So, this month I’ll be living without NPR and jazz, and tolerating Christian music.

Second, I took CKT to Harris Teeter to buy coffee creamer.

Third, the entire family played a couple hands of Crazy Eights and Old Maid.

Fourth, and most significant, the boys and I chatted with my mother and father over iChat in celebration of Mom’s birthday.  CKT even sang to her, while EJT cooed.

Then, I had this cup of coffee.
