This Ted Cruz ad popped up on Facebook.

I have two comments about this ad. First, Ted Cruz is not the “clear alternative to Trump.” There are many issues where Cruz and Trump agree. Further, there are many candidates who really are alternatives to Trump. I can think of at least two: Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

Second, Cruz has a peculiar definition of what it means to “consistently beat” Trump. Right now, Trump has 329 GOP delegates; Cruz has 231. Trump has won more state contests than Cruz.

This ad has a total of three complete sentences, if you include the two in the image. In those three sentences are at least two falsehoods.

Trump gets grief for grandstanding, but let’s not forget that Cruz gets grief for lying.
